Story writing

Fanfic Generator

A fanfiction maker with two modes: build a plot outline, or generate an opening paragraph. Load saved characters from the headcanon tool when you want continuity.

Mode
Choose a saved character or enter any name. Create characters first to reuse headcanons.
Examples: Harry Potter, Middle-earth, Star Wars, Victorian London, Modern Tokyo. Or save a world on the worldbuilding page.
Outline mode only — how many major beats you want.
STORY PLOT

What is fanfic writing?

Stories that borrow characters or worlds and ask a new question inside them.

Fanfic (fan fiction) uses existing characters, settings, or both, then explores scenes the source never showed. People write it to test relationships, heal a canon wound, play in an alternate universe, or simply spend more time with a cast they love. A fanfic generator or fanfiction maker will not replace your voice—it helps you start: a plot spine, or a first paragraph you can rewrite.

Blank-page fear is common even for experienced writers. Tools help most when they give you something specific to argue with. An outline you disagree with is still useful; a vague “adventure happens” line is not. That is why this page separates planning from prose.

This page stays in the Character → World → Fanfic loop. Save people on the headcanon generator, optionally build a place on worldbuilding, then draft here. Nothing requires an account; copy what you want to keep.

Plot vs scene prompts

Outline mode plans the road. Opening mode writes the first step.

Outline mode is for plot prompts: ordered beats from opening to resolution. Use it when you need structure before prose—especially multi-chapter fic, slow-burn arcs, or stories with more than two major turns. Generate the plot, edit any beat that feels wrong, then Write Story if you want a longer draft scaffold.

Opening paragraph mode is for scene prompts: one grounded first paragraph with POV and tone. Use it when you already know the cast and only need a way onto the page. Opening mode skips plot-point counts and writes straight into the story panel so you can copy and continue by hand.

Neither mode is “the real fic.” Both are prompts with opinions. If a beat fights your headcanon, lock the character detail on the home page, regenerate here, or rewrite the sentence. The tool’s job is momentum, not canon authority.

How to use saved characters

Continuity without an account.

Characters you save on the home page appear in the cast picker. Use Fill from saved to load up to four names at once. When a saved headcanon is attached, outline and opening modes can weave that private detail into the draft so the story does not forget who they are between tools.

Worlds saved on the worldbuilding page appear in the world field the same way. Loading a saved world in detailed Write Story passes can pull tone, rules, and conflict into the midpoint—useful when you already spent time on the template.

Libraries live in this browser only. Clearing site data clears them. If you switch devices, copy the text you care about into a doc before you leave.

How to use this fanfic generator

A short path from cast to copyable draft.

  1. Pick a mode — Outline for beats, Opening for a first paragraph.
  2. Add characters — type names or fill from saved headcanons.
  3. Optional world — fandom setting or a saved world template.
  4. Set tone and POV — keep length for outline → write story.
  5. Generate and copy — revise the result in your own voice.

Tip: one concrete story idea (“they miss the last train together”) outperforms a mood board of adjectives. Tone then colors the idea instead of replacing it.

Fanfic prompt examples

What each mode is good for.

Outline · two characters · mysterious

Idea: A letter arrives addressed to a name neither of them uses anymore.

Beats: Opening discovery → shared investigation → midpoint betrayal of trust → final choice about whether to open the last seal.

Opening · first person · warm

Cast: One saved OC with a hospitality headcanon.

Result shape: A kitchen-scene first paragraph that smuggles the private habit into the first action.

Outline + saved world

World: A coastal city that auctions weather.

Use: Write Story (Detailed) can pull the world’s conflict into the midpoint so plot and setting stay glued.

Fanfic generator FAQ

Outline mode vs opening mode?

Outline builds plot beats. Opening writes a first paragraph. Switch anytime; regenerate after you change mode.

Can I use saved characters?

Yes. Pick them in the cast field or use Fill from saved. Create them first on the headcanon generator.

Is this a fanfiction maker?

Yes for scaffolding. You still edit the prose so it sounds like you.

What does Write Story do?

In outline mode, it expands your beats into a longer scaffold, optionally weaving saved headcanons and world details.

Do you store stories on a server?

No. Everything stays in the browser. Copy what you want to keep.

Can I use original characters?

Yes. Type any names. Saved OC headcanons work the same as fandom casts.

How do I bring in a custom world?

Save one on the worldbuilding generator, or type a setting name directly.

Is this free?

Yes. The tools are free in the browser. AI generation has a free limit per visitor in a rolling 24-hour window; when you hit it, wait for the timer on the page to reset.
